I recently stumbled upon author Cameron Roubique and his Kill River book series. I immediately fell in love with the characters and the story, which beautifully captured the 80s slasher horror aesthetics I loved as a child growing up in the 80s. If you're a fan of Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, It, and John Carpenter, I highly recommend setting aside a few hours on a rainy weekend and curling up with this rare gem of pure nostalgia. I've always secretly wanted to create darker synthwave, as I'm an avid fan of the horror genre. Kill River was all the inspiration I needed to fulfill a long held dream of mine. I could not in good conscience release this without Cameron's stamp of approval, so I sent it to him and crossed my fingers. He loved it and fully supported me sharing it with the world. Cameron's detailed description of the killer inspired the artwork for the cover and helped complete the creepy vibe I was going for. I hope all of you enjoy it as much I did creating it.
